Governor David Umahi Intervenes in the Ezza - Effium Crisis Orders Arrest of Political Office Holders



Governor David Nweze Umahi has intervened in the crisis rocking Effium and Ezza community of Ebonyi State, the crisis which has lingered for a while now, has claimed the lives of indegenes, also goods and services lost.

He reconvened a second meeting of the two communities and the re-arrest of Ohaukwu Local Government Chairman, Clement Odah and Assembly member representing Ohaukwu North Constituency, Chinedu Awoh for allegedly masterminding a crisis which has claimed lives and also the suspensiono all political officer holders from the area who were absent and arrest of the duo.

The Governor who said the two leaders should not be allowed access to any phone or be treated with courtesy in detention, also ordered arrest of spokesperson of Effium community, Dr. James Agina and spokesperson of Ezza-Effium community, Mr. Titus Nworie.

His statement:

“All the political office holders from Ezza-Effium who are not present should proceed on suspension without salaries.

“They should not be paid and if the March Salary has not been paid to them, it should be withheld as well.
